The company was founded over ten years ago by Jim Carey who has worked prolifically in many areas of high quality audio production. Jim works on every commission Inventive Audio receives, employing a team of trusted freelancers for big projects. You can read a little bit about Jim’s industry experience below…….
JIM CAREY – Head Ears @ Inventive Audio
As a film sound designer, musician, mixer & music supervisor, Jim Carey has worked on many documentaries, adverts, short films and features – and was nominated for an MPSE Golden Reel for his work as the Head Of Sound on the Oscar-nominated feature doc ‘Exit Through The Gift Shop’.
As a recording engineer, mix engineer & music producer, he’s worked with many musical acts ranging from jazz to grime, from orchestral music to acoustic duos. He has also been commissioned as a mastering engineer by record companies, advertising companies and radio production companies.
As a radio/podcast producer, he’s recorded, produced and presented several critically acclaimed documentaries and essays for BBC Radio 1 and 4. And produced podcasts for the likes of Sleep Junkies and Times Newspapers.
As a voice producer, he’s recorded/directed many top voice artists including Dominic West, Kevin Spacey, Rhys Ifans and Tom Oldham. And has regularly produced voice reels for many aspiring actors, singers and voice artists and is a frequently commissioned professional voice artist in his own right.
His extensive event sound design work includes crafting soundscapes for big theatrical companies like Walk The Plank and venues like the Southbank Centre.
Jim also conducts workshops and masterclasses in various aspects of audio production and storytelling with sound.
